Use of the Tempo Trainer as a teaching resource in modern sports training for swimmersContenido principal del artículo
The study aimed to analyze the effect of the use of a rhythmic control technological resource on temporal accuracy during sports performance in young swimmers during training. A quantitative study with a quasi experimental design and pre and post intervention measurements was conducted. The sample consisted of adolescent athletes belonging to a provincial sports federation who participated in a structured training program in which a temporal regulation device was incorporated as a didactic resource to improve synchronization of execution rhythm during aquatic tasks. Data collection was carried out through performance time records and measures of temporal error in relation to a previously programmed rhythm, using chronographic measurement instruments and standardized performance monitoring procedures. The results showed a consistent reduction in temporal error during the execution of training tasks after the intervention, indicating an improvement in the athletes’ ability to adjust their movement rhythm to the established temporal pattern. Improvements were also observed in performance stability and regularity of execution time during controlled repetitions. It was concluded that the incorporation of rhythmic control technological resources in the training process contributed to the refinement of temporal accuracy in the sports gesture and favored the regulation of execution rhythm in developing swimmers.
